Identification of territories characterized by a combination of natural, cultural and symbolic elements, which give them a distinct character from the rest and which are recognized as such by the population. These territories are called landscape units, and they give as much importance to the dynamic, perceptive and experiential elements of the landscape as to the more static and material ones when defining its character.

Delimitation of public and private forests, managed by the Generalitat, with information describing the elements necessary for their protection, management and conservation. Public forests are forest land that belongs to entities under public law (Generalitat de Catalunya, councils, decentralized municipal entities, councils, the State, etc.). Communal forest lands are also considered public forests, the use of which corresponds to the community of residents of a town. The dataset contains the polygons of known grasslands along the coast of Catalonia. The polygons have associated an attribute that indicates the type of community based on the species of phanerogams present: Posidonia oceanica; Cymodocea nodosa; Zostera noltii; Cymodocea nodosa i Caulerpa prolifera; Cymodocea nodosa, Zonstera noltii i Ruppia cirrhosa.

The dataset contains the coastline of Catalonia characterized for reporting the reliability of the grasslands in the 'Herbassars or prairies of marine phanerogams' dataset. If there is not known information in a section the line is not displayed. The degrees of reliability in which the line is classified are: Very high; High; Medium; Low.

The dataset contains the polygons of surrounding areas of grasslands or prairies of marine phanerogams. Bounding areas are zones in the sea near the shoreline where there is known to be grassland.
