MN08000_901 - Ecosystems services cartography food (crops)

Mapping of the food supply service for human consumption taking into account the production of agricultural crops. The approximation established is based on the calculation of average agricultural yields in biophysical value (kg / ha and year) of crops for human consumption. An estimate has been made, based on the expert knowledge of Unió de Pagesos technicians, of the percentage of agricultural production destined for human consumption for each agricultural crop group.

Statement: The map of agricultural yields has been generated considering only those crops that are intended for human consumption. Due to the fact that in some cases it is very difficult to know if the agricultural production is intended for human or animal consumption (fodder), the expert knowledge of Unión de Pagesos technicians has been taken into account. They have made an estimate of the percentage destined for human consumption (100%, 50% or 0%) for each group of agricultural crops considered in the agricultural yield statistics of the Department of Agriculture, Ramaderia, Fisheries and Food (DARP). The calculation of the average yield (in kg/ha and year) of each agricultural category (indicator of ecosystem service) has been made from the statistical data of "SURFACES, YIELD AND REGIONAL PRODUCTIONS OF AGRICULTURAL CROPS. Year 2013" of the DARP .
