Soil Map of Catalonia 1:250 000

The Soil Map of Catalonia 1: 250 000 is the result of the synthesis of the edaphological data available at the time of its preparation, in 2018. This process, carried out by the Cartographic and Geological Institute of Catalonia, has consisted of in the compilation, analysis and correlation of the cartographic information obtained in the different soil mapping works that have been executed in Catalonia since the 70's of the last century.

Statement
Soil maps are made up of map units, each representing an association of the two types of soils that best explain the edaphological features of the area included in the delineation, both in abundance and in their most representative features ( Soil Survey, 2017). Soil types have been classified at the subgroup level, according to the Soil Taxonomy classification system (SSS, 2014) and by the Reference Soil Groups and the main qualifiers (IUSS, 2015).
