The organization of the data of this cartography has three levels: the first one is the aggregation of cartographic projects resulting from an extension or partial updating of existing projects; the second one consists of the projects, each of which groups the zones produced in the same order. The third level is the sheet, which corresponds to the division in 40x40 sheets of the Mapa Topográfico Nacional 1:50 000. The coordinates of the corners of the subdivision (sheets grid) are described in the reference system ETRS89 and expressed in the coordinate reference system of the data. The set of information to which this metadata is referring to is that of the level "project aggregation", identified with a name (metadata item "Alternate title" from "Data information" section) and a code (metadata item "Identifier" from the same section). The aggregation code matches the code of the project which is the extension or partial update. The area covered by each project is defined by a polygon or a grouping of polygons, which is delivered together with the data. The aggregation horizontal extension is described in this metadata using geographic coordinates with the minimum and maximum longitude and latitude of the minimal rectangle that contains the sheets of the projects, which are whole or in part within the covered area. Therefore, it is an approximate geographic area. The vertical extension refers to terrain altitudes. The temporal extension refers to the dates of the flight or flights from which the cartography has been elaborated. During the transition period established in the Royal Decree 1071/2007 to go from the system of reference ED50 to the system ETRS89, the cartography will be available in both systems.

It is verified the accomplishment of the quality parameters stated for this cartography in the technical specifications: positional accuracy, semantic correctness, logic consistency and completeness. Process steps describe first the development of the extension or partial updating project and then refer to the existing projects that are included in the aggregation.

Revisió de camp i edició. L'objectiu és revisar i completar els elements del diccionari de dades que no és possible obtenir en la seva totalitat en la fase de restitució fotogramètrica. És el cas, per exemple, de la restitució de terrasses, balcons, terrats i ràfecs com a línia de façana perquè l'oculten aquests elements; les omissions dels elements no perceptibles en la fotografia i dels detalls ocults per ombres, projeccions d'edificis, arbres o obstacles artificials o naturals; i també errors d'interpretació. Així mateix, la informació toponímica s'obté principalment sobre el terreny.
