Information regarding historic avalanches obtained from a survey.
: Information regarding an avalanche observed in the past. Mapped based on a survey of inhabitants of the area where the phenomenon took place. The boundaries shown are based on the explanations given by the witnesses consulted. Information is usually taken from Avalanche Zones close to inhabited areas where avalanches have historically interfered with human activity. For this reason the majority of the information is found around these zones. They are shown in purple. Cartography often maps only the avalanche arrival zone, as the descriptions usually refer to their extent and the damage caused.

- Digitalització de l'informació d'una allau observada en el passat. Prové de l'enquesta als habitants de les zones on té lloc el fenomen. Els límits representats es basen en les explicacions dels testimonis consultats. La informació acostuma a provenir principalment de ZA properes a zones habitades, on les allaus han interferit històricament amb l'activitat humana. És per aquesta raó que la major part de la informació es localitza al voltant d'aquestes zones. Estan representades de color violeta. En la cartografia sovint es representa tan sols la zona d'arribada de l'allau, ja que les descripcions normalment fan referència al seu abast i danys ocasionats.
- Description
- The information provided by the surveys of inhabitants in the area and searches made in local, church, photographic-library and press archives are included in the database. In the event that the information allows the evolution of an avalanche to be mapped, this is done on a 1:5000-scale topographic base. In general the maps exclusively show the arrival zone and extent of the avalanche. The precision of the map is extremely variable according to the sources consulted. In general it is a cartographic interpretation of a written or spoken description.
