The study analyzes changes in the forest landscape of the Costa Brava over the past century through the comparison of historical and contemporary photographs. The results show a significant increase in forest cover, with the recovery of pine and oak forests, while agricultural areas have declined. This suggests a shift in land use and in the tourist perception of the landscape.

Una ortofoto consisteix en una fotografia aèria vertical amb escala constant i propietats d’una projecció ortogonal, elaborada a partir d’un mosaic d’imatges aèries rectificades. Per tant una ortofoto té les propietats mètriques d’un mapa i la informació d’una fotografia, i a més està georeferenciada, el que permet poder superposar-la amb altra informació geogràfica de caràcter ràster o vectorial. Aquesta ortofoto està elaborada a partir del vol fotogramètric realitzat el setembre de 2012 amb un vehicle aeri no tripulat, i abasta les platges de l’àrea metropolitana de Barcelona (a excepció del Port de Barcelona, la zona adjacent a l’Aeroport de Barcelona i el tram entre el Port Olímpic i la Barceloneta).
