Purpose

To have a three-dimensional vector model of the territory corresponding to the totality of the municipal term that allows to develop the own activities of the City council (urbanism, cadastre, GIS, urban services, mobility, parks and gardens, etc.).

Maintenance note

The maintenance is carried out, basically, in two forms: 1- Daily by the incorporation of topographic surveys realized with total station and/or gps; 2- Every 4 years by performing a photogrammetric flight and restitution of outdated areas. Although the cartography can be modified daily, a new version is published every three months.

The data are obtained mainly by aerial photogrammetry and tachymetry, in accordance with the following technical specification documents: PLEC D'ESPECIFICACIONS TÈCNIQUES per a l'elaboració de cartografia topogràfica 3D a escales 1:1000 i 1:2000 (CT-1M i CT-2M) v2.2; and ADDENDA per a l'elaboració de Cartografia topogràfica 3D a escala 1:1000 (CT-1M) v2.2 de l'Ajuntament de Sant Cugat del Vallès. The maximum error in the planimetric position is less than 20 cm for the elements collected by photogrammetry and less than 7.5 cm for the elements collected by tachymetry. The maximum error in the altimetric position of the elements is less than 25 cm for the elements collected by photogrammetry and less than 10 cm for the elements collected by tachymetry.

Stereo plotting. The goal of the process is to compile the elements of the data dictionary which it is possible to obtain through this technique.
