Statement: The ESTIMAP model has been used. The model estimates the capacity or potential of ecosystems to provide outdoor recreational or leisure opportunities based on a set of components that are assumed to influence this provision to a greater or lesser degree. These major components are the degree of naturalness, protection of the natural environment, and water-related elements. The weight assigned to each component or subcomponent can be binary (value assigned when the element is present and zero value when it is absent, eg natural parks) or variable according to certain categories or ranges (eg degree of naturalness) or proximity to the element (eg beaches or bodies of water). Finally, the three principal components are normalized between 0 and 1 from the equation v '= (v - min) / (max - min) to generate the final map which is also normalized between 0 and 1 (see also Figure 6 ). The value 1 indicates the maximum potential provision of recreational opportunities and the value 0 the minimum provision.
