- The main objectives of this geoinformation are: To provide public administrations, and the entities and organizations that are attached to them, with the information collected from the subsoil necessary for the planning and promotion of public works. To extend the public accessibility of this information to the entire professional sector of universities and companies involved in the matter; To allow more effective and efficient planning of mandatory geotechnical survey campaigns in civil works and building projects. Having information on upcoming surveys allows us to anticipate possible problems or difficulties that may arise during the execution of new campaigns.

- The data of this dataset do not aim to achieve compliance with INSPIRE regulations. For this reason, its conformity is not evaluated and it is declared not conformant compliant by default.

- Evaluation method description
- The compliance of the metadata is evaluated using the "INSPIRE Reference Validator" web tool. The metadata is considered correct when the only errors reported are related with the main language of the metadata file. These errors are due to the fact that Catalan is not included in the list of official languages of the European Union.

- Data from geotechnical, geological, hydrogeological studies and research surveys are collected from the following sources: ICGC's own studies; Other public bodies (local bodies, Generalitat, etc.); Private companies; Individuals. This data is entered into a documentary archive and, subsequently, the information is processed: it is georeferenced, the characteristics of the surveys and the type columns are extracted. The information obtained is loaded into the Catalan Survey Database (BDSoC), from which this set of data is obtained.
