Sentinel-2 satellite monthly 10 m orthoimage v2.0
Mosaic of the territory of Catalonia made from rectified images and with atmospheric correction without (radiometric) topography correction, with a spatial resolution of 10 meters, captured in a specific month by the multispectral sensor (MSI) of the Sentinel-2 satellites within the framework of the Copernicus program. It contains information from the red, green, blue and near infrared bands of the electromagnetic spectrum. This mosaic is distributed in 4 by-products: 16-bit natural color orthoimage (red, green, and blue bands); 16-bit infrared orthoimage (near infrared, red, and green bands); 8-bit natural color orthoimage (red, green, and blue bands); and 8-bit infrared orthoimage (near infrared, red, and green bands).

- The compliance of the metadata is evaluated using the "INSPIRE Reference Validator" web tool. The metadata is considered correct when the only errors reported are related with the main language of the metadata file. These errors are due to the fact that Catalan is not included in the list of official languages of the European Union.

- The original images used to produce the monthly Sentinel-2 Satellite Orthoimage are recorded by the Sentinel-2 satellites in various orbits (8th and 51st), radiometrically and geometrically rectified by ESA, atmospherically corrected at the ICGC from the ESA sen2cor software and organized in granules or tiles of 100x100 km with UTM projection and time zone orientation. The images needed to cover the territory of Catalonia in a specific month are downloaded from the ESA servers and a composition is made of them using a mosaic according to cut lines that may be irregular and that define the contributions of each image in the resulting orthoimage. Once the mosaic (orthoimage) has been obtained, the by-products mentioned are generated from it by selecting the bands to be represented. In the case of 8-bit outputs of the spectral bands, in addition, a linear factor is applied to the original radiometry before the mosaic is obtained.
