Purpose

The availability of a topographic continuum of Catalonia at scale 1:50 000. Its target is the creation of a digital topographic database. Cartography of reference useful for the development of technical, management, territorial planning and leisure activities.

The area covered by sheet is a rectangle described in these metadata using WGS84 decimal geographic coordinates, with the minimum and maximum longitude and latitude of the four corners. Therefore, it is an approximate geographic area. The vertical extent corresponds to values written in the map: geodetic marks, peaks or altimetric points. The temporal extent corresponds to the date of updating sources.

Statement

The cartographic information included in this map comes from a process of screen photo interpretation on orthophotos with a resolution of 0.5m and 0.25 m. In this work are applied generalization criteria and are used information providing from office documentation and fieldwork. The contour lines comes from the elevations database of the ICGC. The place names are selected according to the scale and placed according the planimetric and altimetric information. The planimetry has been updated with orthophotos and also with the latest information available at the date of the publication. The terms "under construction or projected" reflects the final shape of the project but not the status of the works in the date of the map publication. Modifications: incorporation of touristic information pictograms.
