Regular grid model of 5 meters resolution, from all over Catalonia, which expresses the orthometric altitudes of the terrain, without the elements that may be above it (buildings, vegetation, etc.).

- The main objectives of this geoinformation are: Carrying out urban and territorial planning studies, for the design and evaluation of the environmental and visual impact of infrastructures, calculating slopes, studying solar orientation, improving landscape design, etc.; Assessing natural risks such as floods, torrential rains, landslides and rockfalls; and providing information that contributes to promoting actions and projects to improve adaptive capacity in the face of the impacts of climate change; Studying erosion processes and identifying areas vulnerable to soil erosion, allowing the implementation of land conservation and restoration strategies; Optimizing the management of resources, such as irrigation water, in the field of precision agriculture; Providing a reference base for the development of any activity that has a territorial impact and that must take into account the relief. They are especially relevant in the field of technical activities, management, planning or administration of the territory; Perform spatial analysis operations with other sets of geographic information, especially in 3D.

- The compliance of the metadata is evaluated using the "INSPIRE Reference Validator" web tool. The metadata is considered correct when the only errors reported are related with the main language of the metadata file. These errors are due to the fact that Catalan is not included in the list of official languages of the European Union.

- Based on the altimetric information from the Topographic database of Catalonia 1:5.000 (BT-5M) v2.0, obtained mainly by photogrammetric restitution, a terrain triangle model is generated from which the regular mesh model is generated by interpolation. The fulfilment of the parameters of quality established for this database in the technical specifications is verified: positional accuracy, logical consistency.
