Terrain elevations model of the AMB 25 cm - 2025
Regular grid model of 25 centimeters resolution, from the territory of the Barcelona metropolitan area, which expresses the orthometric altitudes of the terrain, without the elements that may be above it (buildings, vegetation, etc.).

- Purpose
- The main objectives of this geoinformation are: Carrying out urban and territorial planning studies, for the design and evaluation of the environmental and visual impact of infrastructures, calculating slopes, studying solar orientation, improving landscape design, etc.; Assessing natural risks such as floods, torrential rains, landslides and rockfalls; and providing information that contributes to promoting actions and projects to improve adaptive capacity in the face of the impacts of climate change; Studying erosion processes and identifying areas vulnerable to soil erosion, allowing the implementation of land conservation and restoration strategies; Optimizing the management of resources, such as irrigation water, in the field of precision agriculture; Providing a reference base for the development of any activity that has a territorial impact and that must take into account the relief. They are especially relevant in the field of technical activities, management, planning or administration of the territory; Perform spatial analysis operations with other sets of geographic information, especially in 3D.

Domain consistency
- Name of measure
- Compliance with INSPIRE requirements (metadata)
- Evaluation method description
- The compliance of the metadata is evaluated using the "INSPIRE Reference Validator" web tool. The metadata is considered correct when the only errors reported are related with the main language of the metadata file. These errors are due to the fact that Catalan is not included in the list of official languages of the European Union.

- Statement
- Lidar is an airborne laser altimeter sensor that allows the generation of dense and highly accurate terrain models. The system provides a continuous point cloud over the territory, which is adjusted with control areas, and each of the points is subsequently classified according to the type of element of the territory it represents (terrain, vegetation, buildings, water, etc.). This classification, as well as the degree of manual correction that can be performed, may vary depending on the publication. With this, from the points of the terrain class (ground) and the slope breaklines that may have been added, a model of terrain triangles is generated (through triangulation processes) from which the regular grid model is obtained by interpolation. As for the aforementioned breaklines, they are usually obtained by joining points of the cloud, through monoscopic restitution, in areas of abrupt slope change that have not been well defined. The fulfilment of the parameters of quality established for this database in the technical specifications is verified: positional accuracy, logical consistency.
