- The compliance of the metadata is evaluated using the "INSPIRE Reference Validator" web tool. The metadata is considered correct when the only errors reported are related with the main language of the metadata file. These errors are due to the fact that Catalan is not included in the list of official languages of the European Union.

- The 3D model of geological surfaces in Catalonia starts from a project promoted in 2009 by the Geological Institute of Catalonia (currently ICGC) with the collaboration of the Geomodels Research Institute of the University of Barcelona. Subsequently, successive improvements and densifications of the model are carried out, through the compilation, classification, harmonisation, validation and integration of all available surface and subsoil geological data, together with previous knowledge and the geological and structural interpretations made.
