Gravimetric map v1.0 - July 2021

Measurements of gravimetric anomalies and zoning of the territory according to them: the gravimetric anomaly of Bouguer at a scale of 1:250,000 and 1:500,000; the regional gravimetric anomaly at a scale of 1:250,000; and the residual gravimetric anomaly at a scale of 1:250,000.

IDEC / gravimetria-v1r0-202107
Purpose
The main objectives of this geoinformation are: to facilitate the study of the shape, structure and composition of the Earth; to deduce the lithological variations and the structural characteristics in depth; to facilitate knowledge, by the public administration, the scientific world and the public, of gravimetric anomalies.

Domain consistency

Name of measure
Compliance with INSPIRE requirements (metadata)
Evaluation method description
The compliance of the metadata is evaluated using the "INSPIRE Reference Validator" web tool. The metadata is considered correct when the only errors reported are related with the main language of the metadata file. These errors are due to the fact that Catalan is not included in the list of official languages of the European Union.

Statement
This data set is prepared with data from the following organisations: -SIGEOF database of the IGME (IGME, 2010). Is the main base, with the contribution of 24,293 data measured in Catalonia and neighbouring communities, including the data from the Gravimetric Map of Catalonia 1:500,000. It uses UTM coordinates (ED50) referred to the GRS67 ellipsoid, and the IGSN-71 reference gravimetric network. -French database of the BRGM (BRGM, 2009). It provides 3,761 measures in the territory of the French Pyrenees, necessary to reduce the contour effects on the northern border of Catalonia. It uses Lambert coordinates referred to the GRS67 ellipsoid, and the IGSN-71 reference gravimetric network. -Global Gravity Anomaly v18.1. It is a global database obtained from the orbital undulation of the ETRS-1 and GEOSAT satellites (Sandwell & Smith 2009). They have a coverage of 1'x1' and only sea data is used. These are Free Air anomaly data in mGal referred to the WGS84 ellipsoid. In the case of the Bouguer anomaly 1:500,000, this comes from the Gravimetric Map of Catalonia 1:500,000 updated in 2010 based on the previous data.
