- The compliance of the metadata is evaluated using the "INSPIRE Reference Validator" web tool. The metadata is considered correct when the only errors reported are related with the main language of the metadata file. These errors are due to the fact that Catalan is not included in the list of official languages of the European Union.

- The preparation of the 1:50 000 v3.0 geological map is based on the synthesis of the geology of the second series of the National Geological Map (MAGNA, 1972-present), of the Instituto Geológico y Minero de España (IGME). The synthesis process involves the geological harmonization of the 88 sheets of the MAGNA series that cover the entire territory of Catalonia. During the preparation, other geological maps of Catalonia, scientific articles and research works are also consulted, with relevant content from the various areas of geology integrated into the v3.0 of the 1:50 000 geological map of Catalonia. The technical specifications list the publications initially consulted.
