Special Protection Natural Areas (ENPE) v1.0 - June 2021
Limits of the figures defined in Law 12/1985, of natural spaces: national park, natural places of national interest, natural reserves and natural parks. It also contains the limits of wildlife reserves defined in Legislative Decree 2/2008, of 15 April, approving the Revised Text of the Animal Protection Act. The limits of each space are established in the legal regulations by which the space is declared or modified.

- The objective of this geoinformation is: To delimit and establish the necessary measures for the basic protection of natural spaces, whose conservation it is necessary to ensure, in accordance with the scientific, ecological, landscape, cultural, social, educational and recreational values that they possess; Facilitate knowledge, by the public administration and citizens, of the territorial limits of natural spaces, as well as their identification and surface; Provide a reference base for the development of any activity that has a territorial impact and that must take into account the existence of protected sites. They are especially relevant in the field of technical activities, management, planning or administration of the territory; Make it possible to carry out operations and consultations for territorial analysis or incidence with other geographic information data sets.

- The metadata is reviewed for compliance with the INSPIRE specifications, in accordance with the criteria defined in the current Technical Guides. The metadata is considered compliant if the only notices identified are related to the use of Catalan as the main language of the register, a language that is not included in the list of languages provided for in the INSPIRE directive.

- The initial digitization of the spaces was done using the Topographic Base 1:50 000 of the ICGC and, in the successive revisions, the Topographic Base 1:5 000 (of the ICGC) is used, following in any case the description of the delimitation of the different spaces and later modifications. The use of one Base or the other in the digitization of the polygons is indicated as an attribute of them.
