Evaluation method description: The compliance of the metadata is evaluated using the "INSPIRE Reference Validator" web tool. The metadata is considered correct when the only errors reported are related with the main language of the metadata file. These errors are due to the fact that Catalan is not included in the list of official languages of the European Union.

Statement: Indicator of the functional value of biodiversity, of great importance as a support for many functions and services of ecosystems: dynamics, stability, productivity, nutrient balance, etc. This has been developed taking into account the diversity of niches in the vertebrate and plant communities, depending on the degree of specialization of the various organisms (index of specialization of species of nesting birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians, and of vegetal community (map of ecological amplitude of woody plants)), and the population dimension through the indicator of the capacity of the territory to act like reservoir or like source of individuals (sum of core areas of different representative species of fauna).
