- Database specifications consist of the technical specifications, the data dictionary and, for complex formats, the specifications of format. The documents, which can be downloaded from ICGC Web page https://www.icgc.cat/en/Public-Administration-and-Enterprises/Downloads/Topographic-cartography/Topographic-base-1-25-000 , are the following ones: "Especificacions tècniques de la Base topogràfica de Catalunya 1:25 000 (BT-25M) v1.0", and "Diccionari de dades de la Base topogràfica de Catalunya 1:25 000 (BT-25M) v1.0". Concerning specifications of format, the following formats can be downloaded from the same website: DGN, DXF and SHP. Can also be downloaded from the CCCC website - http://www.cccartografica.cat/engl/Home-CCCC/Normes-i-estandards/Especificacions-tecniques . Finally, the specifications for the implementation in the Export Oracle format are available to the ICGC DataCloud service accessed via FTP/SFTP, CIFS, HTTP or NFS, always with username and password.

- The horizontal extension of the data is described in these metadata in geographic coordinates, containing the minimum and maximum latitude and longitude of the territory of Catalonia. It is, therefore, an approximate geographical area. The vertical extension refers to terrain altitudes. The temporal extension refers to the dates of the flight or flights from which the dataset of the topographic database has been elaborated.

- Units of distribution
- The dataset is distributed by sheets. The surface of terrain covered by each sheet, coincides with the 2x2 subdivision of the National Topographic Map 1:50 000 (MTN). The corner coordinates are those defined for the ED50 reference system and are expressed in ETRS89.

- In the first edition, the database is obtained by cartographic generalisation of the Topographic database of Catalonia 1:5 000 v2.0, updating by stereo plotting coming from recent photogrammetric flights and incorporating office information. It is verified the accomplishment of the quality parameters stated for this database in the technical specifications: positional accuracy, thematic correctness, logic consistency and completeness.
