Information regarding recent avalanches obtained from observation of the terrain
Information regarding an avalanche observed recently. Mapped based on direct observation of the event or observation following it. The information is obtained based on the nivometeorological observation network, rescue groups, countryside wardens, mountain guides, and ski and mountain resort personnel. In the event of important episodes and accidents the IGC technicians also gather information. The elements mapped mainly include the extent to which avalanches affect populated areas, roads, ski resorts and people who carry out mountain activities. Data began to be gathered in 1986. It is shown in blue.

- The map is based on direct observation of avalanches and photographs and has been mapped on 1:50000-scale, 1:25000-scale and currently 1:5000-scale topographic bases and on large-scale ortophotos. On the ground, some maps were made with the help of GPS.

- Digitalització de l'informació d'una allau observada recentment. Prové de la cartografia directa de l'esdeveniment. La informació és obtinguda a partir de la xarxa d'observació nivometeorològica, grups de rescat, agents rurals, guies de muntanya, personal d'estacions d'esquí i muntanyencs. En el cas d'episodis majors, també els tècnics de l'IGC s'ocupen d'obtenir-ne la informació. Es cartografien principalment en zones poblades, carreteres i estacions d'esquí. L'obtenció de dades començà el 1986. Es representen en color blau.
- Description
- The avalanches observed are digitalised on a 1:5000-scale topographic base. During the digitalisation process of the avalanche path ortophotos from 2008 and 2009 are used. The information obtained from the nivometeorological observation network, rescue teams, countryside wardens, mountain guides, and ski and mountain resort personnel goes through a validation process performed by the IGC technical team.
