Statement: The delimitation of the surfaces affected by forest fires is obtained from the treatment of satellite images, within the framework of the agreement between the DACC and the ICGC. Due to the characteristics of the satellite images, the use of this method is subject to the availability, representativeness, processing and quality of the images themselves. In case the images are not available, the conditions necessary for its treatment are not given or that in the final quality control errors are detected, the limits can be obtained, totally or partially, by GPS by the Cos d'Agents Rurals of the Generalitat de Catalunya. Finally, in case the information was obtained based on different sources, a quality control is performed to contrast the results obtained by remote sensing with the delimitations from the GPS.
