Soil information on soil profiles described in the field, with varying degrees of detail, both of the place where the observation is made and of the profile described. Including its composition in horizons, morphological description and physical-chemical characterization, such as the type of soil.

- The main objectives of this geoinformation are: To facilitate the study of soils, as well as the dissemination of their constitution and composition. Its diversity can be analyzed, its forming processes and factors can be understood, its functions can be discovered, and its uses can be understood and contextualized; To provide a reference base for soil cartography; To catalog the different types of soils present in the Catalan territory, along with their characteristics and spatial distribution; To enable operations and queries of analysis or territorial incidence with other sets of geographic information data.

- The compliance of the metadata is evaluated using the "INSPIRE Reference Validator" web tool. The metadata is considered correct when the only errors reported are related with the main language of the metadata file. These errors are due to the fact that Catalan is not included in the list of official languages of the European Union.

- Description
- The observations necessary to elaborate the soil profiles will consist of boreholes, mini-bores, trenches, cuts, surveys, etc. The observation density will be 0.04 per ha, in agricultural land, and 0.02 per ha, in forest land.
