Purpose

The correct location of Protected Tres in Catalonia is necessary for the territorial planning and management, according to the Decree 214/1987 of declaration of Protected Trees (as they are considered cultural heritage) and also the Decree 47/1988 about the declaration of regional and local interest.

Location of Protected Trees in Catalonia, represented according to three references: GPS, orthophotomap 1:5 000 ICC, and the 1:5 000 and 1:50 000 topographic maps provided by ICC (Catalan Institut of Cartography). Decrees 214/1987, dpf 9th June and 120/1989, of 17th April, about the declaration of monumental trees , establish the protection mechanism which has been set by ordinances: 1.
