Geographic areas of settlement that appear in the Geographic Names Database of Catalonia (ICGC) and the Nomenclátor de municipios y entidades de población (INE), and the polygons that appear in the Economic Activity Polygon Information System (SIPAE), with their names and codes and the administrative divisions where they are located. The interpretative delimitation of the settlement areas includes the representation and location of buildings and constructions with a defined urban structure and the groupings of buildings including the associated spaces that respond to the same geographical name.

Land boundaries of the Catalan municipalities in accordance with the Decree 244/2007 and the Royal Decree 3426/2000 about the territorial organization of Catalonia. The municipality boundaries forms the municipalities, which are the basic local entity of the territorial organization of Catalonia. This data set is conforming to the technical specifications of INSPIRE Administrative units.

Geographic base of the decentralized municipal entities (EMD) of Catalonia, with their names and codes, derived from the delimitation files of the entities and the municipalities to which they belong, and from reference cartographic sources. Of the boundaries of the polygons of the EMD represented in this base, only those that have a recognition act, a resolution published in the DOGC or a judicial resolution that determines the current official line are definitive, as long as they have coordinates in the current reference system. The rest of the boundaries must be considered provisional. The EMD are a type of entity with a territorial scope lower than the municipality, that is, local governments below the municipalities.

The Municipal map of Catalonia (MMC) is the geographic base with all the Municipal maps (MM) that have been considered by the Territorial Delimitation Commission (CDT) and that contains, for each map, the boundary markers, of the lines drawn and of the polygons resulting from the official municipal boundaries of the territory of Catalonia.

ATOM service for downloading information related to Theme 4 - Administrative units, of Annex I of the INSPIRE Directive, in the geographical area of Catalonia. The service allows the download of the dataset of Administrative units of Catalonia, according the Directive requirements, derived from the Municipal base of Catalonia.

WFS service to download administrative boundaries, such as county divisions at different scales (1:1,000,000, 1:500,000, 1:250,000, 1:100,000, 1:50,000, 1:5,000), municipal divisions at different scales (1:250,000, 1:100,000, 1:50,000, 1:5,000) and finally the heads of municipality and heads of county.
