- Purpose
- The main objectives of this geoinformation are: - To model the behavior of water in coastal urban environments, taking into account existing physical barriers; to simulate realistic flood scenarios in urbanized areas; to identify critical points where water can accumulate due to construction; to plan adaptation measures such as drainage, retaining walls or rearrangement of spaces; etc. - To carry out urban and territorial planning studies, to improve adaptive capacity to the impacts of climate change, optimize the location of facilities, etc. - To analyze the impact of new works (roads, etc.) on the topography. - To provide a reference base for the development of any activity that has a territorial impact and that must take the relief into account. They are especially relevant in the field of technical activities, management, planning or administration of the territory. - To perform spatial analysis operations with other sets of geographic information, especially in 3D.

- Evaluation method description
- The metadata is reviewed for compliance with the INSPIRE specifications, in accordance with the criteria defined in the current Technical Guides. The metadata is considered compliant if the only notices identified are related to the use of Catalan as the main language of the register, a language that is not included in the list of languages provided for in the INSPIRE directive.

- Statement
- Lidar is an airborne laser altimeter sensor that allows the generation of dense and highly accurate terrain models. The system provides a continuous point cloud over the territory, which is adjusted with control areas, and each of the points is subsequently classified according to the type of element of the territory it represents (terrain, vegetation, buildings, water, etc.). This classification, as well as the degree of manual correction that can be performed, may vary depending on the publication. With this, from the points of the terrain (ground and model key points) and building classes, and the slope breaklines that may have been added, a model of terrain triangles is generated (through triangulation processes) from which the regular grid model is obtained by interpolation.Based on points classified as "building" and "vegetation", a building and vegetation model is generated by assigning the maximum elevation to each pixel and applying local interpolation. This model is integrated into the digital terrain model, replacing the values in areas containing buildings and vegetation. As for the aforementioned breaklines, they are usually obtained by joining points of the cloud, through monoscopic restitution, in areas of abrupt slope change that have not been well defined. The fulfilment of the parameters of quality established for this database in the technical specifications is verified: positional accuracy and logical consistency.
