- The main objectives of this geoinformation are: To develop interactive applications for the treatment, calculation, analysis and generation of reports on the fly of chemical data from groundwater; To provide a reference base for carrying out basic studies of hydrogeological characterization; To facilitate the study of groundwater and its chemical composition; To catalog the different types of hydrogeochemical families present in the groundwater of the Catalan territory, their characteristics and spatial distribution; To enable the performance of operations and queries for analysis or territorial incidence with other sets of hydrogeochemical data.

- The data of this dataset do not aim to achieve compliance with INSPIRE regulations. For this reason, its conformity is not evaluated and it is declared not conformant compliant by default.

- Evaluation method description
- The compliance of the metadata is evaluated using the "INSPIRE Reference Validator" web tool. The metadata is considered correct when the only errors reported are related with the main language of the metadata file. These errors are due to the fact that Catalan is not included in the list of official languages of the European Union.

- The hydrochemical data come from the ICGC's hydrogeological map database and information system (BDSIMHCat). The ICGC promotes the carrying out of sampling campaigns at different water points in Catalonia to chemically characterize the different hydrogeological units of the territory. The samples that are collected are analyzed and processed periodically to be incorporated into the BDSIMHCat.
